Hi! Thanks for this list!
Why are all these sites so dense and kind of busy?? Only a few examples are more balanced in my opinion (e.g. Date Night DC)

@Edgar Leijs, Hi
thanks for leaving a comment, but I wouldnt say that so many are dense and busy. No doubt some have more info than others but I think all of them do a good job of balancing that well. You should see the ones I didn’t choose!

Great list, I’ve always thought Tennessee had a great site. If I recall correctly the background changes with the seasons, to have four different looks through out the year. My partner and I both had (an immature) double take with the choice of photo with tag line combo for Virginia though.

@Aly, Yes, they have subsites for each season. Great concept, wonderful execution. Had not thought of the problem with Virginia….

What a nice collection of travel sites. A few of the flash features are a little slow to load on some, but the balance and the visual vibrance are breath taking. Thanks for assembling the list.

@David Graham, Glad you enjoyed them. Yes, sometimes flash can be a bit slow at times, but once these get going, they have alot of style.

Thanks for that list, I’m working for a travel company, and these are great examples to follow !
I like the Tennessee and Saskatchewan sites more (even if the Tennesse site is dense.)
As you can see on other travel sites, design seems to come from the 90’s, with dense templates and lots of information.
Travel companies are hard to convince to evolve to lighter and more modern sites.
I wish my boss let me do something that look like what you selected…
Great selection though.
