HDR is short for “high-dynamic-range photography” and is achieved by capturing multiple standard photographs at different exposures and then using software to merge them together, post production. Just about any camera can take HDR photos, just need the ability to set over (or under) exposure of your photo. Even some mobile phones are capable of doing this nowadays.
Today lets take a look at 30 truly amazing and beautiful examples of HDR photography for your inspiration. This post production style can create images that look almost surreal, too colorful, or even other worldly due to their depth, but you can be certain that they have all been developed using photos shot from normal cameras.

I love the concept and some of the results. Where i am having a problem is that many HDR shots are over saturated, they do not look real to me. Less would be more. I know it’s the rage and i want to do HDR myself, but hopefully a little more subtlely.

Some pretty impressive images, HDRIs provide a lot of information to give such photorealistic images especially when mixed with CGI.
Who is the photographer and retoucher for these images..
I really like the train the best

@Blue Shift Gallery, sorry you feel that way. would love to see examples of what you consider well done HDR

Sorry, but I have to agree with Blue Shift Gallery on this. HDR when used with subtlety CAN produce some realistic looking images. However, none of these are remotely realistic to look at.. they are a form of garish poster art at best. My rule of thumb is, if you can tell it’s HDR, you have probably overdone it.
