40 Creative and Beautiful Package Designs For Your Design Inspiration
Posted on 01. Mar, 2010 by bmackler in Inspiration
The goal of packaging is to make a first, quick and lasting impression. More than most other areas of design, we are surrounded by this on a regular basis, but pay the least attention to how items are wrapped and presented. Whether it is wine, tissues, home goods or food, we rarely take a second look and appreciate the time that has gone into its initial presentation. From the logo and layout of colors and images to the placement of the nutritional information, a designer has the ability to sell the product and create a loyal customer before they even get the chance to try it out at home
One of the best ways to have someone notice a product on the store shelves is the creativity involved in how it is packaged. Like all other areas of design, the under appreciated area of product packaging uses many methods including various shapes, vivid colors, strong typography, illustrations and unique textures to help draw initial attention. Today lets take a look at 40 Creative and Beautiful package designs for your design inspiration.

Excellent package designing. I like all ideas but I am not understanding the concept behind “wooden matchsticks”.
Why are some sticks are half broken?

Lovely treat. I appreciate packing for the required combination of appropriate design with functionality. You treated us to packaging that met not only appropriate but in some cases were sublimely beautiful or brilliantly witty and fun.
Cannot judge the functionality of some or how they might feel in the hand. A few it might have been nice to mention what it was packaging for (Example: Aomori Apples and Six Feet Under).
Enjoyed this thanks.

@goldendog, Thank you for that comment. yes, I tried to find the most memorable items that left a great impression and also were appropriate to the product. not always easy to do. sometimes though not always the most function. but sometimes that makes it more fun…

Doritos Packaging Design: Love how the geometric package relates back to the shape of the product.
Gloji Pomegranate Juice Bottle: It’s like drinking an idea.
Waitrose Herb Packaging: Modern, clinical and chic.
Landmine Ketchup: Ouch.
Leap Organics: The design reminds me of tattoos.

@bmackler,
Yes you’re right, those were my favorites in the list. I have seen the Takara Banana Juice Packaging numerous times, it’s actually one of my all time favorite drink packaging. Simple but brilliant. How about you? Which ones stand out for you?

I am so overwhelmed about your package design and fantastic illustration works!
Pretty well done!
I like Aomori Apples, the green “hat” makes the whole design outstanding.
Meanwhile, I can tell how brilliant idea of the Takara Banana Juice which gives a direct idea about the product.
Fuelosophy is just so cute; and Lather Bee Rich Soaps is really gorgeous.
And I can feel pain for Landmine Ketchup
Thanks for sharing those amazing works.
