One of the biggest problems of any small company or freelancer is keeping track of records, bills and other accounting related issues. These sorts of stumbling blocks are a major concern and sometimes the cause of us not succeeding. You can have all the talent in the world, all the best ideas and most innovative style, but if you can’t keep track of where the money is coming and going, you do not stand a chance surviving.

The excuses are many; I’m not good with this stuff…I do not have the time to worry about these things, it’s just too expensive, I’m a designer, not an accountant!!…I wouldn’t know where to begin, its all so confusing.

That is why I was so happy to find this application recently. It really fills a need in this industry as well as in so many others while addressing all of these concerns. There is a real need for keeping things easy, quick and transparent at the lowest cost possible. To me, SkyLedger fits that description. It is really an application that keep everything simple yet highly-functional. Most of all, I have yet to see any other web based accounting application that come close to what SkyLedger does.

What is SkyLedger?

SkyLedger is a browser-based tool that can be used to take care of all the major operations associated with bookkeeping and accounting. There is no software to install, no dedicated computers to set up and no need for redundant backups to keep things safe and secure.

This is what is called cloud-based accounting. SkyLedger is an internet-based accounting system. So is that safe? Can I feel comfortable keeping all my important financial information floating out there in cyberspace? The answer is a resounding yes. Cloud computing is what we do on Gmail and Hotmail or everytime we check out YouTube…we just don’t realize it

SkyLedger can put any piece of paper; receipt, order form, invoice, you need at your fingertips in a snap. This service lets you upload all of your files and assign them to each ledger item. So whenever you get a bill from a vendor, up it goes. And then when you pay that bill, you can attach a copy of the check.

Nowadays every company wants to be paperless. What is the number one source of paper in small companies today? Yep, you got it, accounting-related paperwork.

If you work in a small office, you don’t have to worry about whose computer is going to be the one with the bookkeeping software hooked up to the server. Now, with SkyLedger, everyone can have total access to all of the bookkeeping and accounting information.
