There are tons of great, standout web designers and design studios in the world, but at the top there are a select few who stand out from the rest. Their passion, immense creativity, determination and attention to detail make them shine as true leaders of the field. I have compiled what I think is the top 20 collection of the leading names in web design today whose impact is difficult to measure.
One of the top agencies with a unique and interesting website. Their portfolio is top notch and world class. In a world of Flash gone wrong, theirs is an example of perfect execution.

Good list, I love Mike Precious’ work and Dan at Simple Bits was the one who finally explained CSS to me, back in the day.
However, I wouldn’t make list like this and leave out two of the Brit Pack fellas… Jon Hicks and Mark Boulton. Both are epic designers that I eagerly follow.

Seeing “agencynet”’s site is an experience, an excellent piece of flash site.
Yes, all these are master in the field of web design but still there are many more. How did you give them these 20 positions. what is your metrics? You should give the position on some rating or other standardized pointing factors otherwise you are doing some nepotism or doing some content exchange.
I know after reading these you will reject my comment but i am helpless to say the truth.

@affordable website design, Yes, agency.net’s website is quite an experience and yes you are also right that there are so many other very talented designers that will make an impact for years to come. The standard that I used was innovation, reach, creativity and design skills. It would be simply impossible to list every single person or studio, so I stuck with what I consider the top 20. No nepotism and no content exchange. Just my researched opinion. btw, I only reject comments that are mean spirited, do not add anything to the discussion and aren’t beneficial to the educational process.
